The best way to share what you're listening to with your friends through your favourite IM client.
Requires OS X 10.6 or higher, 64-bit.
Setting up Statustune is simple. Just download and install the application, choose your IM client in the preferences, and let Statustune do the work. It'll automatically share what you're listening to with your messaging client.
Statustune allows for autoupdating, only requiring one click to update, so you'll never miss out on features. It also supports all your favourite media clients, including Sonora, Spotify, and Rdio.
Statustune uses very minimal system resources, so you'd never know it was running if there wasn't a menubar icon.
It's pretty simple. Load it up, and a menubar icon will be added to your menubar. Click it, and from there you can change your preferences, including what message client you use. Start playing a song in either Sonora, Spotify, Rdio, or VLC, and Statustune will set your status in your message client you've set to what you're listening to! Pretty neat, huh?
Absolutely nothing! It's free to use for as long as you desire. However, if you wish, you can feel free to donate via the button above. It'd help me out a lot, and I'd definitely appreciate it.
Yup! Just select "Messages" as your messaging client in Preferences, it's backwards compatible with iChat as well.
Go ahead! I've set up a Github repo where you can submit bugs, suggestions, and other Statustune related things to. You can read more information on it here. If you have any issues with Github, feel free to send me a Twitter mention or an email instead.
Currently my plan is to begin to support other clients in the upcoming versions. Feel free to send me an email if you have any suggestions or recommendations.
As linked throughout the page, you can send me an email with any questions, concerns, crash reports, or suggestions involving Statustune. You can also follow me on Twitter and send me a mention, and I'll be sure to DM you or mention you as soon as I can.
Also, thanks Joe for the awesome app icon.
